Orthodontics

The branch of orthodontics works to prevent dental deformities in children and adults, to solve existing disorders, and to provide good aesthetics, speech and function.

Tooth distortions can be caused by genetics (parents, teeth and jaw structure characteristics) or environmental (finger sucking, nail biting, loss of milk teeth at an early age).

Untreated crowding can lead to chain problems such as psychological problems in adulthood, tooth and gum problems caused by not being able to brush well due to crowding, speech problems, joint problems.

What are braces?
Braces are appliances used to correct the alignment or closure of your teeth.

How Many Types of Orthodontic Appliance Are There?
Appliances used in orthodontic treatment are of two types:

Fixed Braces
consist of brackets attached to the teeth and wires fixed to them.

Removable Braces
are appliances that the patient can take off and put on. Mobile therapy is cheaper than fixed therapy. However, they cannot be used in all cases. They can be used especially in children aged 6-12 years.

When to Start using braces?
Generally, braces in children begins when all permanent teeth replace primary teeth. However, in some cases, starting the treatment early is important in terms of preventing complications that may occur later and directing the development of the maxillofacial.

However, braces are also possible in adults, although the treatment may take a little longer as the bone density is higher in adults.

How Long Do Braces Take?
The duration of treatment depends on many factors. One of them is the severity of your orthodontic irregularity. In order for your treatment to be completed in the best possible way as soon as possible, you should heed your doctor’s warnings and not delay your control appointments.

Will I Feel Much Discomfort When Brackets Are Fitted?
You may feel some discomfort at first. But your lips, cheeks and tongue soon get used to them. In addition, you can brush your teeth and do normal daily care even if the brackets are attached.

Braces with Transparent Plaques
Braces with clear aligners gives your teeth the ideal position they should be. Without the need for metal braces, your teeth will be in an ideal position with clear aligners.

Transparent plaques that are difficult to notice in the mouth are renewed every 10 days. Renewed plaques are included in the package and no additional charge is required.

With transparent plaques, your teeth are moved further at every stage and regain their natural alignment. All you have to do is change your plates every 10 days.
